About Us

     Welcome and thank you for visiting our web site!  If you do not already have a church home, we hope you might consider becoming a part of our great community.   The Platteville United Methodist Church is committed to "living in faith, loving in Christ, lifting hearts, lending hands, and leaving hope."     Our worship service is on Sunday morning at 11 am.  The service is about 55 minutes long with a sermon that is biblically based and deals with life today.

Our History and Who we Are

  Our church has been serving the faithful for over a century. Our mission is to spiritually
uplift our community, and work towards a greater good.   
In the early spring of 1863, in the home of Judge Francis W. Hammit, a Methodist Society was formed which was to become the Platteville Church.  The first Class was led by Rev. Charles B. King, from Boulder, and consisted of seven members.   Judge Hammit's home, made of rocks and logs, was nestled up against a hill along the
Platte River.  It

Emergency Food Bank
  A donation box is in the foyer and items are delivered to the Food Bank each   week.

Aluminum Can Collection
  The funds derived from the cans go directly into the Outreach account which   pays for pastor;s emergency food baskets, gas cards or other immediate   assistance to those i
